Permanently Delete Facebook Messages
Step 1. Click the "Messages" icon on your Facebook homepage. The Messages symbol lies in the top left edge and also appears like two little overlapping speech bubbles.
Step 2. Click the conversation including the message or messages you wish to remove. If it is not listed on the preliminary Messages pop-up window, click "See All" to view all of your personal messages. Click the conversation on that listing consisting of the message you wish to remove.
Step 3. Click the "Actions" button and then click "Delete Messages" on the Actions drop-down menu.
Step 4. Click the check boxes located alongside the messages you wish to erase.
Click "Delete" and then click "Delete Messages" to verify that you intend to delete the selected messages.
Tip
To remove an entire discussion as opposed to specific messages, click "Delete Conversation" after clicking the Actions food selection in the 3rd step.
Caution
Deleting a personal message in your Messages inbox does not erase it from the inbox of your conversation partner.
